2015 Cyclocrawwws Fundraiser plus 2 Links

Kelowna Cycle, Platinum Sponsor to the West Kelowna Telemark Cross Country Ski Junior Race Team

Kelowna Cycle: Follow the Leader

It’s that time of year again!  Kelowna Cycle is running the Telemark Cyclocraaaaws race, a major fundraiser for our team!  This year we are back up at home sweet Telemark for another weekend of ‘cross heaven!  We need volunteers to set up the course on Saturday and to run the race on Sunday.

Sign up HERE

We are doing our own timing this year so need some extra help there.  Course set up is after the day camp and adult waxing clinic on Saturday, so bring your work gloves, a staple gun if you have it, and a big hammer and we’ll have the course up in a couple hours or even less.  Kelowna Cycle United is also sending up volunteers both days, and will be running a bratwurst barbecue and have the hot chocolate ready!

For the race we will have categories for all riders, from kids to David Lloyd, beginners to expert, male and female categories.  For more details about start times and categories see the Facebook event at https://www.facebook.com/events/199794417018474/.

Raffel Wind Up 2015

With the approach of the BC Championship weekend comes the wind down of our third annual raffle ticket fundraiser. All ticket books and money must be returned no later than Thu Feb 19th in preparation for the Feb 22nd draw. The sooner the better!! Some families have not yet picked up their required ticket books, 2 books per athlete (with a 4 book family maximum and a one book per athlete grace period if you are a first time JD). PLEASE don’t make me hunt you down : )

Ticket Drop-off/Pick-up: Nadine Seivers will be available on Saturday Feb 14th for book drop-off or pick-up. You can bring your completed books to the parent meeting Feb 17th. You can also return tickets at the office in a sealed envelope with “For Deepa. Raffel” so I can reconcile money and tickets. Remember any cheques need to be made out to Telemark Nordic Club. You can also email me to make alternate pick-up/drop-off arrangements (email).

Thank you to the Filatows, Redmans, Dickiesons, and the Telemark Office for returning fully paid for and sold books. Good job!!

I still have unclaimed books. This represents thousands of dollars of potential revenue. If you think you can sell more tickets please contact me ASAP to get more tickets(email). You can return what you don’t sell if it is above and beyond the mandatory books. Take them to work. Go door to door. Call the relatives. This is easy money to support our very worthy athletes and the more we sell the more advertising for our sponsors and potential to attract sponsors next year.

Party in Rossland Booked

Hello,  Tom has booked the following for Rossland.  Olaus House 5 bed 3 bathroom sleeps 10-14.  White Wolf Chalet 4 bed 3 bathroom sleeps 8-10.  base of Red mtn short walk between and walk to Black Jack Trails.   I’m thinking that guys and boys and wives (if they want) can stay in the Olaus house.  And ladies and girls can stay in White Wolf.  We can use Olaus as a food prep and dinner spot.   Breakfasts are on your own.  Lunch on own, but I think we can pot luck a soup  or chill to be on the stove for lunch/afternoon snacks.  Friday dinner on your own because we will probably be arriving at different times but talk with other people so we are sharing.  Saturday lets do a large potluck with everyone at the Olaus.

I was quoted 400 a nite for each place.  If we add it up and divide by total bodies in both, I  think that would be fair.  We might have some kids sleeping on the floor but that is okay.  I slept on the living room floor at Callaghan Nationals, cause that was better than the couch with 3 teenagers in the room.  If it looks like we are too crowded, we can add another ” White Wolf” chalet .  Please talk to others about car pooling. I know Christine Campbell (Hugh) is interested in sharing ride.

Please email me walkerttfn@gmail.com if I have made an error or you want to be included.
